Barbara Manis, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Building Health
Sciences, was selected as a Presenter for the HB Litigation
Conference on Chinese Drywall Litigation & Insurance Coverage Update
in San Francisco on Tuesday, July 28, 2009. This was both a live event
and webcast. Dr. Manis spoke to health effects, fundamental
toxicology and occupant exposures to the sulfurous off-gassing of this

Dr. Manis has, for over twenty years, assessed causation and made
claims decisions in hundreds of matters from perceived indoor
environmental exposures from various volatile organic chemicals, to
formaldehyde, to mold, in both residential and industrial settings.
Building Health Sciences, its staff and Dr. Manis have been involved
in, designed protocols and managed many large scale environmental
projects which have required, sampling and analysis, risk
communication, resident relocation management, coordination of remedial
activities, medical oversight, and construction defect / building
science expertise. Additionally, BHS has performed one of the largest
indoor environmental Epidemiological Studies to date.
